iWantTV with Sky Cable or Sky Broadband

Is the iWantTV streaming TV and movies service of Sky Cable fast enough?

If you're a Sky Cable subscriber, or even a Sky Broadband subscriber (at least P499 a month), you can register for your free account at iWantTV.com.ph

For some reason, though, the activation email that will be sent to you ended up in my Bulk folder. So if you're wondering when that confirmation email will arrive, please check the other folders of your mailbox.

Anyway, we tried the service (via Sky Broadband), and the connection is pretty good. No stuttering or buffering of videos, especially for shows on ABS CBN. Then again, the test was done at 8am, on "video on demand" content.

Let's see what happens if we choose the LIVE option during primetime.

It would be interesting to test iWantTV using an iPad 2 or a mobile internet device using other broadband internet service providers in the Philippines. The pretty clear vids might need at least 512 kbps to make the viewing experience enjoyable.
