Writing Workshops: Essay and Poetry Writing

Are you an aspiring writer? Go and attend the series of lectures on poetry and essay writing.

The Writing Section is a private writing workshop for adults and teens. The classes for poetry writing will be held at Unit J, 154 Maginhawa St., Sikatuna Village in Quezon City.

For essay writing, your workshop facilitator will be Jose Wendell Capili. For poetry writing, you have Carlomar Arcangel Daoana.

Jose Wendell Capili will hold a five-day lecture on essay writing on April 12 (M), 14 (W), 19, 21 and 26 (Mondays and Wednesdays). Capili has written six books including A Madness of Birds (UP Press, 1998) and Bloom and Memory (UST Publishing House, 2002), and currently works as the Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs of the University of Philippines System and also as the Director of the UP System Information Office. He is also an associate professor at the UP College of Arts and Letters.

Carlomar Arcangel Daoana will hold a five-day lecture on poetry on April 17, 24, May 1, 8 and 15 (all Saturdays). Daoana has written two collections of poetry: Marginal Bliss (UP Press, 2002) and The Fashionista's Book of Enlightenment (Designed By Words, 2009), and currently writes a weekly arts and design column for Manila Bulletin called "Art Object."

Weekday classes are scheduled for 7-10pm.
Weekend classes are scheduled for 1-3pm.

The workshop fee is Php 4,500.
