Pre-judging People

Do you tend to pre-judge people? Do you take a quick look and then say "Ahhh...!" ?

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Then you're quite normal.

Lots of us tend to judge books by their covers. Afterall, a breezy stroll through a bookstore will reveal how quickly our eyes are drawn to attractive covers, and how rapidly our feet shuffle us past bland design.

Yet this almost automatic predilection for pre-judgment can also serve us well. Moreso if we're somehow forced, like a captive audience, to steel ourselves for what could be an embarrassingly laughable performance by a nondescript mobile cell phone salesman with an accent.

Thank you Rico (for posting the video on your blog) and Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts, for showing us how our smashed prejudices can, just like laughter or sheer inspiration, bring welcome tears to our eyes.

My favorite clip is the First Audition. When you watch the video, please also look at the faces of the audience and the judges.
