Problems With YouTube Private Videos

Have you tried private YouTube videos?

Here's how it's supposed to work:

YouTube video creators can designate a video as private, and allow only people in their "Family" or "Friends" list (or both) to view the private video. Well, I tried it and friends keep seeing the "this is a private video" message.

I then go back and edit my video's details, and when I checked the "Broadcast Options", I noticed that although the video is marked "Private", the Family and Friends buttons are not checked.

Yet even if I check the "Friends" button and click on "Update Video Details", and even if I see the "Video details have been updated" confirmation message, my friends are still unable to view the private YouTube video.

When I check the video details, the "Friends" button is once again not checked. Argh!

Does anyone know how to make the "Friends" selection stick? I've emailed the YouTube team and once I get their answer, I'll post it here. Stay tuned! :-)
