PLDT Smart Social Network

Given the popularity of Friendster in the Philippines, it's no surprise that PLDT launches its C Me On Smart 3G service.

Pinoys love to connect, whether it's through texting, Friendster, MySpace, Multiply, or even through Blogspot blog comments. We can't help it. We are social animals.

So, with PLDT's "C Me on Smart" 3G video portal community, people can use their cell phones to meet new friends, engage in various discussions, and expand their social and business contacts. In addition to feeding the Filipino need for socialization, this move will help promote the use of 3G technology in the Philippines.

How To Access C Me on Smart

1. Make a video call to *8336
2. Select Find a Friend.
3. Watch the video on how to create your 30-second profile.

After you record your video profile, you'll be able to view the profiles of the other people.

This service is available to all Smart 3G prepaid and postpaid subscribers who are at least 18 years old, and costs P6.50 per minute. The nine minute speed dating session, however, costs P60.

Here are some video tips for your video profile:
1. You have 30 seconds. A lot of the people use only 5 seconds.
2. State your first name, age, and location.
3. State your purpose (e.g., looking for friends).
4. Give your welcome message (e.g., are you also interested in looking for friends? Send me a message now or add me to your favorites)
5. End your video by repeating your first name, age, and location.
6. Speak clearly. Don't rush things.
7. Video yourself against a simple wall. Use adequate lighting.
