Spock Shock

I got an invitation from Spock.com and got a bit shocked.

On at least two screens, I was asked to enter my account name and password for non-Spock sites (i.e., LinkedIn). Thankfully, there was a "Skip this step" link, so I just kept my passwords to myself and skipped on to the next page.

It looks like Spock grabs details from LinkedIn pages, so even if you don't have a Spock account you'll still find yourself in their database (assuming you have a LinkedIn account). To claim that page as your own, however, requires you to input your LinkedIn password.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Feel free to give Spock a try (you can list your website urls), just don't too trustingly hand anyone your passwords.
