YouTube Beta Pages

YouTube is testing beta versions of its pages.

For example, if you view the Lupang Hinirang or Philippine National Anthem (beta page version) on YouTube, you'll notice Related and Promoted videos on the right side.

You can also customize the way the video is embedded in other sites. You can embed the video as is, or you can even include related videos.

Bottomline: YouTube is encouraging the consumption or viewing of even more video. Your chances of being viewed are far greater now.

For a quick shot at online video fame, choose popular YouTube stars and watch their videos. See if you can produce a funny or "thought provoking" video that's related to the theme of the popular videos. You can even go a step further and post a video response.

It's easy to think that with so many channels online hardly anyone would find you. But now, YouTube is somehow linking all these channels together. How's that for continuous improvement, right?

And what does this mean for local television? Then again, for as long as a lot of people in the Philippines do not have computers or access to the internet, Wowowee, The Buzz, and Philippine television will survive. But for how long?
