Joost A Minute

Joost calls itself a new way of watching TV.

It's "new" because you'll now use your computer and the internet to watch television. I tried it recently and was amazed at the clarity of the images. And the speed! There was hardly any stuttering or start-stop jerky motion.

And I thought YouTube was fast.

Joost showed movies faster than you can say "just a minute." It was as if your monitor were hooked to a VCD player and the show just unfolded before you. There are some differences from your regular TV, though.

There's a chat feature which allows you to connect with other Joost viewers online. When I tested it, though, no one replied. Perhaps they were busy viewing the sample shows (e.g., sci fi shows, kiddie shows), or my chat handle wasn't enticing enough.

Will Joost make it? It depends on the programming deals that they can enter into. If they work some kind of deal with ABS-CBN, I wouldn't be surprised if lunchtime viewership will skyrocket.

Anyway, check it out at Joost.com
