Wattpad Mobile Phone Ebook Service

If you remember my previous entry about Mobile Phone Ebooks, you'll be pleasantly surprised to know a number of Filipinos are reading ebooks using their cell phones.

There's a service called WattPad (www.WattPad.com) which allows you to easily download ebooks into your PC or into your cellular phones. You can also sign-up for free and upload stories.

This is interesting because you now have a way of reaching people who are not tied to their computers (or who don't have easy access to a computer). Check out this example of Pinoy Jokes, and try the button that allows you to send it to your cell phone.

(Not all phones are supported, though.)

In the Philippines, practically everyone walks around with a cell phone. So if you want to easily get in touch with them (without resorting to interruption marketing), you can write a short and compelling story, upload it to WattPad and then get the word out (through blogs or even print advertising).
