The Genius of ABS-CBN

ABS-CBN made a brilliant move by pulling Pinoy Dream Academy clips off YouTube.

Mike Abundo thinks it's a dumb move, and even Obet received a letter from YouTube regarding a Pinoy Dream Academy clip.

I think ABS-CBN's move is sheer genius:

1. It creates publicity. More bloggers are talking about it.

2. It stimulates demand, as far as those who have watched YouTube are concerned.

3. It provokes people to upload the pulled clips to other videohosting services.

4. It presents the opportunity for more buzz in the future.

5. It paves the way for ABS-CBN's next move... :-)

Oh yes, ABS-CBN "gets" YouTube. Remember the case of the pulled and re-inserted Jon Stewart videos? That's just the pakipot strategy. It's all just a matter of time.

Like I said: Genius. Sheer genius.
