Free Advertising Network

You can now advertise your web site in other sites for free, with the Adgridwork advertising network.

Adgridwork (Adgridwork.com) requires you to put a bit of javascript in your web site, which displays the ads of other participants. It's a case of give-and-take because when you display the ads of others and those get clicked, your ads will also appear in other web sites.

Some observations, though:

1. The ads do not appear targetted, so don't expect your ad to get clicked on a lot.

2. There doesn't seem to be any screening process, so anyone can put whatever they want in an ad. I saw an ad which leads to a site which exploits young girls wearing.... well, you get the picture.

3. You cannot track your advertising using your own tracking program, because when people click on your ad, they do not go straight to your site. They are first sent to Mediagridwork.com's script.

If you just want some kind of exposure online, then go ahead and try Adgridwork. Hopefully, the day will come when better (independent) tracking tools will clearly show you whether or not your ad campaign was worth your time.
