"Daddy, how do you get rids?" my son, Adi asked the other day. "Get what?" my husband responded. "Get rids." After several rounds of that, Adi finally said: "How do you get rid?" "Get rid of what?" Daddy queried, finally getting somewhere. "Get rid of people who are not good?" Adi replied.

Last Thursday night, by some stroke of good luck, my friend, Myna managed to get all six of us high school friends together for dinner. It has been quite some time since our group (which we called the G.A.N.G before, as in Great Adventurous Nutty Girls) got together so easily. It really is quite difficult to get everyone in one place, at the same time, what with our families and careers.

Just yesterday, my husband showed me an interesting article about how stressful situations (emphasis on the stressful) can bring about an increased need for intimacy for couples. The premise was that in highly uncertain or troubled times, people feel the need to be close, to show their loved ones more affection than they usually did in the past.

Every now and then, my son, Adi, takes a walk to a park within our village. Each time he goes there, he picks a flower ( I don't even know what kind it is, but it's not the romantic-looking type) and saves it till the evening to give to me when I come home from work.

It has been exactly 10 years since my husband and I got together. Well, we've been married for more than 6 and prior to that, we were only a couple. Now, we're a couple about to have two kids.

When I was taking my MBA, my textbooks and hand-outs started to look like coloring books. Why? I practically colored the whole page, since I pretty much thought that everything was important. Some classmates would even rib me by saying that I'd be better off coloring the things which were not important. I would save on ink.

Conrado de Quiros is my favorite newspaper columnist. He just has a way of picking the right words and sending these straight to your heart, or your brain. Plus, he always has a clear stand on things. His columns are never wishy-washy.

This baby in my tummy seems to be one determined and feisty kid. I was half-asleep this morning and lying on my left side. My body was positioned in such a way that about half of my stomach was pressing against the bed.

In one of my son's activity sheets from school, the concept of sharing, was presented. My husband then tried to explain sharing or fairness to him by giving him some situational examples.

My son, Adi, hardly ever asks why. When he was about two years old, I kept telling my husband that I couldn't wait for the time when Adi would finally ask us lots of questions, particularly why.

Adi wanted some biscuits this morning, together with his breakfast, and so I opened a small pack of Hearty Flakes (free plugging) for him. After awhile, he changed his mind and requested me to finish the left-over biscuits. I was done with breakfast so I told Adi that we would ask Daddy later to eat the remaining Hearty Flakes.

Anything we could have written about last night would have seemed trivial. Like almost anyone around the globe, we were glued to CNN, unbelieving and stunned by what we saw. Throughout today, we went about our usual business though at the back of our minds, we had questions unanswered and sorrow about innocent lives lost.

While in Kuala Lumpur, we were able to try out this restaurant called "Shook," at the Lower Ground Floor of Starhill Center. Starhill Center is a shopping mall connected to Marriott Hotel and if you have no intentions of spending big, I suggest you just give it a few minutes or hours. Most of the shops sell name brands so this is not the place to get good bargains.

Busy, busy, busy. We started the day by going to mass, on the occasion of Mother Mary's birthday. After, it was off to the OB to see my doctor for the monthly check-up which I dread. Not that I experience or expect anything terrible. I just really dislike the waiting that comes with the visit. Patience was never a trait of mine, you see. Then again, what do you expect with OBs? They can't program when their patients give birth.

Missed another day again. It wasn't our fault though. No, we weren't feeling bad and no, the bed didn't look that inviting. Our webhost or web server just went on the blink the whole day yesterday. It was like viloria.com had vanished into oblivion. So, if you had tried to visit us yesterday, all you would have seen was "new site." And that was it.

My son's assignment notebook at La Salle had the instruction: "Pray the Hail Mary." I then asked him: "Do you already know how to pray Hail Mary?" He then started off praying the whole thing, almost perfectly. Then he ended by saying: "It's going to be her birthday soon." September 8 is Mother Mary's birthday. I knew it all along but it took my son and his school to remind me. At least that's Catholic school tuition well spent.

Yup, I skipped a day again. This daily writing seems to be more difficult than I thought. Then again, the bed really looks so inviting when you're dead tired from work and have yet to recover from a bout with a really terrible cough.

I am now on my 3rd month (going on 4th) of pregnancy and my first child, Adi, is excited like crazy about his coming sibling. He's batting for two more babies though as he wants a sister and a brother. Every evening, he prays: "Thank you for our baby and for our other baby, next time." Talk about visualization.
