A former officemate of mine passed away at the age of 43. I was not particularly close to her although am still quite stunned by her death. Another former officemate of mine, who is a close friend of the deceased and mine, too -- told me a few weeks ago that our officemate's two kidneys were no longer functioning and that she had to undergo dialysis regularly.
