I rarely watch TV and when I do, I am usually irritated by inane shows and corny commercials. Yesterday, though, I chanced upon Jollibee's ad - and of course, at the start, I didn't know it was promoting Jollibee.

The preoccupation with Philippine politics has rubbed off on observers as well. Last Friday, I think, was the first time news on the country's credit rating hit the headlines - and all because Fitch voiced out its worry that if President Gloria does not run again, certain reforms (which would lead to progress, I assume)may not be sustained. Hence, the rating downgrade. Why I even heard the news on DZBB, am radio, the night before. Talk about media mileage!

Here in the Philippines, June 12 is Independence Day. Today, it's our 105th celebration, in fact, to be exact. Pinoy or not, may I then request you to say a prayer for the Philippines? Our country has been through a lot and most things, probably, are still not to our liking. Reading the Bible today, though, talks about not being discouraged and we are filled with hope.

Adi's numerous summer activities were concentrated in April. He had art and science classes, learned a little Chinese, took up cooking (he wants to be a chef when he grows up - about two years' going now), and to this day, continues with his swimming.
