Adi can't wait to learn how to drive. It's a long way off though before he turns 18. The other day, our conversation went like this:

If you're about my age, most likely, you spent your summers quite simply. You probably just lazed around the house, watched a little more TV, and that was it. For some summers, I remember my mom giving me a typing book and asking me to practice typing (in an age way before computers). More regularly, she would also ask our help to bring my brothers' books down from those boxes that have already been put away so I could go through them. Animal Farm, The Little Prince, For Whom the Bell Tolls -- you get the picture.

My son Adi loves to drink hot chocolate -- the kind you make from those chocolate tablets. This week, he had it several times for breakfast.

We spend a fortune on pharmaceutical products - our vitamins and medicines, those of the kids too. We're at the drug store practically every other week.
One popular drug store chain has a "Suki" card - a card which will give holders who happen to be frequent buyers a reasonable amount of discount on future purchases. We finally decided to apply for one just recently.

For now, my son Adi wants to be a chef when he grows up. A chef who'll cook spaghetti and french fries. There was a time when he wanted to be a veterinarian. He then said he'll work at the Manila Zoo on weekdays and at Taronga Zoo on weekends. We could even live with him in his house in Australia.

Our daughter, Ali, is 2 months old today. On the occasion of her baptism, her grandfather (my hubby's dad) wrote her a poem. My father-in-law likewise wrote a poem for me recently but that's another story. Still, how many wives can boast of that fact? Anyway, here goes Grandpa's poem for Ali.

How often do your kids ask you to look for things they themselves use? "Mommy, where's my book?" "Mommy, where's my toy?" If these queries do not find their way into your house, consider yourself doubly blessed. I mean, having a kid who may ask you those questions is blessing enough.

How competitive are your kids? Adi, for one, is fiercely competitive. He makes a contest of practically anything and everything. The first to finish his food. The first to be born. I don't know how we managed to raise such a kid (though I think my husband can venture an explanation) but lately, we've been trying to teach him that being first, or winning isn't everything.

Did you experience those April showers yesterday? Kind of strange, having rains in April. Then again, stranger things have happened.

Happy Easter everyone! Just coming off the Holy Week break, I suppose you know why there were no entries till today -- we were plain lazy. Anyway, Holy Week is usually that time of year when we go for the sacrament of reconciliation and penance. In other words, we go to confession.
