Donors for Blood Type O negative needed for Mr. Onofre Pagsanghan

Mr. Onofre Pagsanghan, legendary teacher at the Ateneo de Manila High School and fondly known as Mr. Pagsi, still needs blood donors for a blood transfusion. (This information was as of June 21, 2010, Monday morning).

His blood type is O negative, not that common, and he can only receive blood from type O negative individuals as well.

Calling all of Mr. Pagsi's students and all who have learned a thing or two from him over the last 59 years that he has been teaching, if you or anyone you know has type O negative blood, please proceed to the National Kidney Transplant Institute (NKTI) blood bank to donate. You may call NKTI at 924-3601 to 19 to inquire for updates, if you want to make sure before you proceed to the hospital. NKTI is located at East Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City and is open from 9am to 9pm daily.

According to the latest update, Mr. Pagsi is still on a liquid diet but is in high spirits. We missed him at the Mass of the Holy Spirit last Friday and at the Salu-salo which came after.

If you do not have Type O negative blood or do not know of anyone who has such a blood type as well, please help in spreading the word and please pray for Mr. Pagsi's good health and continued recovery. His students at 1-A need his daily five-point quizzes. After all, as Mr. Pagsi reminded them: "You are what you do repeatedly. Excellence is not an act. It's a habit."
