Mom's A Stewardess Wins Jaime Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Award 2009

First of all, let me thank everyone who has supported my book, Mom's A Stewardess in one way or another. I am happy to share with all of you that the book won Best Book in Family Life in the Cardinal Sin Book Awards for 2009.

The award was given out during the 31st Catholic Mass Media Awards held at the San Carlos Seminary Auditorium in Makati City on October 14, 2009 at 5pm.

The Cardinal Sin Book Awards were first given out in 2007 by the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc. Previously known as The Asian Catholic Publishers, Inc. and founded by Jaime Cardinal Sin, the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc. recognizes authors and publishers whose work promote total human development, Gospel values, and Filipino culture. Core values are love of God, love for humanity, love for creation, love of country, and love for the poor.

The Family Life Category covers books that promote the value of the domestic church, including stories about parenting, family relationships, struggles and accomplishments.

I also made it to the finals of the Emerging Author Category, which is an award given to a Catholic writer who is publishing a book for the first time on any topic that falls under the award categories, and demonstrates a fresh approach to the chosen field. My congratulations to Sr. Bernardita Dianzon, FSP who won the award for her book Glimpses of Paul and His Message. The book also won Best Book in the Spirituality Category and is published by Paulines Publishing House.

Again, thank you to the organizers of the Catholic Mass Media Awards, the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc., my publisher, Claretian Publications, and everyone who has read the book, bought the book, given away the book. Special thanks again to all those who contributed something to the book, whether by way of writing an endorsement or the Foreword or by editing it: Fr.
