Cathy Babao Guballa writes a column called Roots and Wings for the Philippine Daily Inquirer. The column appears on Sundays.

She also maintains a blog called Midlife Mysteries: Musings and Ramblings at 40something. When I was growing up (yes, I guess we belong to the same generation), I read a lot of Nancy Drew books. And Hardy Boys. There were lesser known characters like Trixie Belden, the Dana Girls, and the much-younger Bobsie (did I spell that correctly?) Twins or the Secret Seven and the Famous Five. Those were interesting reads then. It was exciting to see how each story would turn out. Turns out that how our life stories would go as we age would prove to be more exciting and mysterious. But definitely fun.
