The Festival of Learning: Volunteers Needed

My friend and Poveda batchmate, Sana Sta. Ana, active in All Together in Dignity (ATD) Fourth World Philippines, an international non-profit organization, informs us that ATD is looking for volunteers for its Festival of Learning. This April and May, ATD will be holding educational activities for children living in poor communities in Manila.

There will be various activities like: story telling, arts and crafts, writing exercises, and excursions. Interested individuals can volunteer by sharing their talents by becoming a facilitator, a donor (P200 can already sponsor a child), or by helping organize trips by linking ATD and the children with organizations who can sponsor the different activities.

For those who are interested to volunteer, participate, or contribute, there will be an orientation on April 5, 2008, Saturday, at 3pm at the ATD Fourth World Philippines office located at 1225 Labores St. Pandacan Manila. For inquiries, you may call 563-9312 in Metro Manila, Philippines.
