Target Shopping

Nope, I didn't get the second word wrong. I did mean shopping and not shooting. Shopping's fun! As for the shooting part, let's just not talk about that.

When Filipinos go to the US for a vacation, one of the things that they like to do is to shop. Some people say that most Filipinos would prefer to go to factory outlets rather than go commune with nature. =)

There are a host of choices available for the shopper in the US. There are the usual name brand shops and the big department stores like Macy's or Nordstrom. There are popular stores too like Ross and Marshalls, where you can get some pretty good deals. Just make sure that you are ready to sift through racks of clothes or piles of items which have no sense of organization at all. If you have the patience for doing that, then you may want to check those stores out. Also, at Ross, if you go on a Tuesday, senior citizens (those aged 55 and above) are given a 10% discount on all purchases.

One store that you may want to check out is Target. It is more orderly and organized than, say, Ross or Marshalls and it offers a lot of nice items for kids especially. While there, I got a lot of t-shirts, dresses, and shoes for the kids. Even compared to Manila prices, the items were still a steal! (That's saying a lot knowing how reasonable prices are here in the Philippines.) I bought some items to keep in stock to give away as gifts -- at least, the kids who will receive those clothes will not bump into too many kids wearing the same item.
