An aunt of mine passed away and was laid to rest last week. Her cremated remains were placed at the Ossuary of Santuario del Amor Divino at the Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish.

The Santa Clara de Montefalco Parish is located at C. Raymundo Avenue, Caniogan, Pasig City, Philippines. The church is still being built and upon completion, it will be the tallest church in the country. For every ossuary that an individual purchases, a portion of the proceeds is used to complete the church.

What is an ossuary? An ossuary is a chest, building, and/or site made to serve as the final resting place of those who have passed away. In the case of the Ossuary of Santuario del Amor Divino, there are a total of 2,848 crypts in an area measuring 2,028 square meters. Different sections of the ossuary are dedicated to different saints (e.g. St. Lorenzo Ruiz, Sta. Clara de Montefalco) and each ossuarium can accommodate up to 3 urns or the remains (i.e. bones) of up to 3 people.

Regular masses are celebrated for the dearly departed. The ossuary itself is covered but is at the same time, bright and airy as the sides are open. There is likewise ample parking.

The price of each ossuarium ranges from P35,000 to P130,000 depending on the location. You can purchase on an installment or on a cash basis. If you pay in cash, you can avail of substantial discounts -- for certain units, the discount can be up to 50% if there is a promo period.

You can reserve (without paying any downpayment) but you will need to make a payment within 15 days.
