Date Joaquin

I read about this website in the Philippine Daily Inquirer yesterday. It's about a 22-year old guy named Joaquin Valdes who is searching for a date till Christmas.

I checked his site out and it's very attractive in red and white, with matching music to boot! He says he hasn't been in any relationship so far so I guess that makes him a certified NGSB (no girlfriend since birth) guy. Joaquin Valdes is a student, singer, and host.

It is 25 days till Christmas and I guess we shall all wait to see whether Joaquin will get his wish by Christmas Day. You can really do anything on the net these days -- buy stuff, research ailments, and even find true love?

Some people are not convinced that this isn't some promotional gimmick of sorts. Close-up (the popular toothpaste brand) pays for Joaquin's dates and the fact that Joaquin is looking for a girl with a "great smile" just sounds like a Close-up commercial in the making. =)

Well, lucky Joaquin. Am sure his website is getting a lot of hits. I wonder -- will it help him accomplish his mission of finding that one special date?

Whatever the outcome, am sure this datejoaquin website was a blast for Joaquin and for Close-up. May true love find Joaquin someday even if, just in case, by Christmas he learns that it isn't just a Google Search away.
