Thanksgiving DayThanksgiving Day will be celebrated in the United States this November 23, 2006. In the Philippines, the tradition of thanksgiving has not caught on but that should not stop us from pausing briefly on that day and giving thanks for all the blessings that we have received. [an error occurred while processing this directive]Every day in fact, is Thanksgiving Day. What are some of the things we might do to observe the day, without the turkey? 1. Be nice to others -- Smile. Be kind to people around you, particularly to people you may not know or who may not be able to do anything for you. Give your loved ones a no-occasion gift sometime. Do something nice for them. 2. Be nice to yourself -- Rest and relax. Read a good book. Meet up with friends. Get a massage. Buy yourself something you've always wanted. Start a gratitude journal. 3. Pray -- Take some minutes off from your busy schedule to be alone with God. Reflect on all the good things that have come your way. Give thanks for all the difficulties and obstacles too. Everything in life is a blessing. So, Happy Thanksgiving everyone in advance! All throughout our lives, gratitude is the best attitude. When we say thank you, more beautiful things come our way. =) [By Angelica Viloria | Wednesday, November 1, 2006] [an error occurred while processing this directive]Copyright © 2001-2012 by Angelica Bautista Viloria.
