Feast of the Archangels (September 29)

September 29 is the Feast of the Archangels. The archangels are as follows:

1. St. Michael - defeated Satan and his followers when they rose up against God;

2. St. Gabriel - the archangel who appeared to the Blessed Virgin Mary to announce to her God's plan; and

3. St. Raphael -- the archangel who brings good health and provisions for the journey.

Here's a Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:

"St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and may you Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast unto hell, Satan and all the fallen angels, who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."
