Ignorance is Bliss

One of my daughter's favorite activities at night is to play hide-and-seek. Usually, the whole family plays 10 rounds.

A few nights ago, Ali again requested to play hide-and-seek. Here is how the conversation went:

Mommy: How many rounds of hide-and-seek will we play, Ali?

Ali: 16 rounds!

Mommy: 16 rounds? That's too tiring. I like 10 rounds.

Ali: I don't like 10 rounds.

Mommy (getting tired without having played a single round yet): Ay naku, it's 10 rounds or zero.

Ali: Ye-hey! Zero.

(Mommy and Lola looking baffled.)

Ali (with an excited, happy look on her face): Is zero plenty?

Kaya pala siya nag-ye-hey. Ali didn't know the concept of zero yet. Well, now she knows it means nothing. =)

Ignorance is truly bliss.
