Kuala Lumpur Trip: Sunway LagoonSunway Lagoon is about 45 minutes to 1 hour and a half away from New World Hotel, depending on the traffic situation and whether your cab driver gets lost or not. [an error occurred while processing this directive]Going to Sunway, we spent about RM 50 for a cab which was roomy, the station wagon type of a car. Going home, the cab fare was only RM 30 (inclusive of toll) and to think, we even got lost. We had gotten the cab coming home from one of those stands near Sunway Pyramid Mall where you already pay upfront for the cab fare based on your destination. The Dry Park at Sunway was closed the day we visited. We were thus not able to go on their roller coasters and water flume rides due to some power problem issue. We spent about RM 100 (that's about P1,500) for the four of us for the Waters of Africa portion. We stayed from 11am to 5pm. In a way, the fact that the Dry Park was closed was a blessing. The time we spent there was just enough to enjoy the Waters of Africa section and we didn't get too tired rushing from one portion to the next. I guess we will have to schedule a second visit sometime so we can enjoy the rest of the park. The kids enjoyed the wave pool (the water was warm); the water guns and pistols; buckets filled with water (which would pour unpredictably) and the slides at Kalahari Kids (which is an interactive water play area designed for smaller kids). Adi's favorite though was the African Python where he and his dad had a fun time going through about 3 differently shaped long slides. Sunway Lagoon is indeed worth a visit -- particularly for water-loving kids. It will probably require 2 days for you to enjoy the other attractions in the park too.
