Spongebob SquarePants: The Movie

One of the more popular TV shows these days on Nickelodeon is undoubtedly Spongebob Squarepants. All I need to do to realize that is look at my son Adi and his cousin Andie and watch them sing The Campfire Song, whatever that is.

Enter the Spongebob Squarepants, the Movie. We saw it yesterday with Adi at the Podium and it was not too bad. :-) I enjoyed most of the scenes in the 1 hour 20 minute film. The opening song (with real actors playing pirates) was fun. Throughout the movie, there were some really wacky lines and I particularly enjoyed the expressions on the various characters' faces. We caught the TV show early in the evening again -- and even the tunes and music they play are quite catchy.

I can still hear in my mind Spongebob singing -- "I'm ready. Promotion..." The scenes where animated characters turn to real things and vice versa were also well done. Now I know why the show succeeds.

Yesterday, Adi and I were talking about Spongebob and I asked Adi: "What's Spongebob ba?" Adi answers: "He's a sponge. Duh..." Clueless mom talaga. Anyway, now I'm more up to date. I know Patrick is a Starfish. Plankton -- a plankton. The rest of the characters are also equally amusing. Continuous education and awareness for parents is a must. Can't get away from it...
