Kawasaki Disease: Ali UpdatesWe were at the doctors last weekend and Monday for Ali's regular monitoring for Kawasaki Disease. Her 2D echo was normal and so the next one is scheduled in December 2004. That will be the last! [an error occurred while processing this directive]As for her blood readings, platelets and ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) have normalized since the last time (which was end July). Her CRP (C-Reactive Protein) is still at 12 when normal is up to 6 but she's made significant progress and improvement when you think that more than a month ago it was at 48 and even higher, before that! From my readings and from what I gather from Ali's doctors, both ESR and CRP are indicators of inflammation in the body. So, in December, when we do the last 2D Echo, we will again do the blood tests, minus the ESR. They'll take less blood now. :-) The aspilet treatment continues till then so may I ask you to join me in prayer as we thank God for Ali's full and complete healing? Am confident she'll get final clearance re any long-term effects of Kawasaki Disease by December. That will be a neat Christmas gift. You'll hear from us by December. After that - it's on to what we may be able to do for other Kawasaki patients...
