Staying at The Regent Kuala LumpurOn this last KL trip, we stayed at The Regent Kuala Lumpur on Jalan Bukit Bintang. It has a good location, right in the middle of it all and within walking distance to major malls and shopping areas. Lot 10 and Sungei Wang (where you have department stores like Parkson Grand, if I remember correctly) are in the area. Beside The Regent, there's also some sort of tunnel that allows you to get to the other side of the road (more shopping and more eating) even when it's raining. And it was, when we were there so that was very convenient. [an error occurred while processing this directive]Room rates include a breakfast buffet - which has all sorts of breakfast items, with Japanese and other Asian viands to boot. My officemate likewise asked for as much bottled water as she needed during our entire stay. Across the street, there's a restaurant known as Chopstick Noodle House, located at KL Plaza. While we were there, they had set meals which cost RM 88 for 4-5 people - that's about P1,320 which isn't bad even by Manila standards. The set meal included: double boiled wintermelon with seafood soup (very tasty, clear soup with a generous serving of seafood meat); steamed cod fish with superior soy sauce; deep fried golden beancurd (my favorite so the hubby must come here too); two combination of barbecued dishes; chinese style stir fried vegetables; and steamed rice. The place is quiet - so I suppose when I'm in the area again, I'll be back. Speaking of shopping, when we were there, we talked to a KL-based Pinoy who said that Sungei Wang is a good place to shop for electronic products. Digital cameras are said to be 30% cheaper than here in Manila (now the hubby will really be interested...) although he says KL is about 2 models behind Singapore. Still, you don't really need the latest for as long as it works well. That's it - for the area around The Regent. Coming up next: Places to visit like KLCC Suria Mall, Petaling St., Petronas Twin Towers, Putrajaya, the KL Bird Park, and the KL Tower. » Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Index of Articles[By Angelica Viloria | Wednesday, May 26, 2004] [an error occurred while processing this directive]Copyright © 2001-2012 by Angelica Bautista Viloria.
