Moon Day Entry: Passing Time

Sorry for that long lag. Time went by so fast and I was so busy preparing for a trip, for training -- that I no longer had time to write. Well, am back from such a busy schedule and also from Kuala Lumpur so hopefully, the entries will be more regular.

I was off the local newspapers (makes it sound like some vice, huh?) from Wednesday to Saturday, it was as if time stopped literally. As soon as I got home Sunday, I glanced at the newspapers, and the death of Nick Joaquin had a greater impact on me than on the news that the Iglesia ni Kristo would endorse Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Didn't know the man personally - we do have his autograph though - but somehow, I got the feeling that a certain era came to a close with his passing away.

Don't believe everything you read by the way just like the news about the Iglesia endorsement which was quite premature. The Philippine Daily Inquirer today also says Joe De Venecia stated that Couples for Christ will go for Gloria in the coming elections. In the same article, someone from Couples for Christ debunks this and I have it from my friend (who is from Couples) that there is no such endorsement. Time flies by and politicians remain the same. Unbelievable.

Which brings me to Malaysia. It was my third time to visit the country (1994, 2001, and 2004, if I'm not mistaken about the first time)and am amazed at how much it has changed and improved. There's more to do now and am actually looking forward to bringing my kids there. Watch out in the next few days for details on our trip. While going around, though, I could hear: "Pag si Ping, Pag si Ping..." in my head as his ad constantly talks about how we have been left behind by Malaysia and Thailand. I also remember our trainor for the workshop describing a certain company we were looking at as : "kind of sleepy but with lots of potential." Was he talking about the Philippines?

Time passes. Things change and at the same time, things remain the same.
