Moon Day Entry: With Age Comes Gratitude"Every day I wake up, I think, what a blessing -- I'm alive. I don't care if it snows, it rains, it thunderstorms -- a heatwave. I think, I'm here -- this is terrific." - Richard Harris [an error occurred while processing this directive] Sometime this week, I turn 37. Yipee! Another year closer to my goal of living up to 100. Seriously, that is my wish - but then of course, God may have other plans. The way I see it, seventy years would be fine. Reaching 80 years old would be a bonus and anything over that is just gravy or icing. Just a few weeks ago I was texting my friend. I don't know how we got to the topic of ageing but it turns out that I'm the first person she talked to who was actually excited or looking forward to growing older. She said she was quite insecure about ageing, and was thinking already if she could afford botox or a facelift. Why am I excited about ageing? Well, I want to see how my kids (and the hubby too!) will turn out. I want to enjoy my grandchildren, if ever. I want to know how it is to have time on your hands and not have to rush off to work and do 101 things. Each day we have been given is a gift. Imagine, I have been alive for 37 years and God has been extremely kind. Blessings abound and in hindsight, I can point out instances where situations which were not to my liking at the time that they were happening turned out for the best. I'm sure the story is the same for your lives too. So may I wish you all choicest blessings this week as a way of celebrating my birthday. God bless us and our families. It is good to be 37 and as they say in Eat Bulaga: "37? Hindi ka mukhang 37. Mukha kang 38." Have a good week!
