Trusting God with Open BagsAs the days go by and as I deal with my kids more, the more I am convinced that this is one of God's ways to give me insights on how He deals with me and how I deal with Him. [an error occurred while processing this directive]The other day, I was fixing Adi's "big schoolbag" for the following day. I was tired already so I left the bag open as I intended to put in other things he needed early the next morning. "Mommy, my bag is still open," Adi states. He walks to his bag and proceeds to zip it up. I reply: "Adi, I left it open because I'm still going to put in other things tomorrow." "But my bag is still open, Mommy," and Adi continues to try and zip up his bag as he ignores my earlier statement. "Adi, TRUST ME," I find myself saying rather strongly and firmly. And the hubby and I realize that this is probably how God feels about us every single day. We go about our daily activities. We try and handle things on our own. We exert effort and rearrange things to conform to how we think they should be. We hate it when things are hanging. We feel uneasy when "open bags" get thrown our way. But the Father has the best plans for us and the reason the bags are still open is that He will still be putting in things we need at the right time which may be tomorrow or the next day or the day after that. So, zip up nothing but your doubts and open your hearts, minds, and ears...and TRUST.
