A Kid's Letter Opener

"What's this, Mommy?" Adi asked while staring at and holding my cute, wooden letter opener with a giraffe design which I had bought at the Museum of the Filipino People gift shop.

"That? That's a letter opener." I replied.

"How do you open letters?" Adi continued to ask.

"You hold the letter opener, put it in a particular position and move it so you can open the envelope." (Mommy patiently answers. I even volunteer to let him try using it next time).

"Letter opener?" Adi thinks. "I thought ALPHABET letter opener."

Only a kid would think that way. Kaya pala kami di nagkaintindihan...
