Inside Manila with a BookFinally got hold of my copy of Inside Manila With Kids by Didith Tan Rodrigo. I had been on the look-out for this book since I read about it in a magazine months ago. The first time I inquired, National Bookstore at Robinson's Galleria didn't have it yet. Last weekend, I was lucky. [an error occurred while processing this directive]The book reminds us Manila-based parents of where to take our kids - aside from the mall, that is. Although she also has a section on the malls - I guess we can't really get away from them. She writes about places like Manila, Intramuros, Rizal Park, Chinatown, among others. There's information about operating hours, contact numbers, fees, and even the state of the bathrooms! The book serves as a handy to-go-to list although you shouldn't expect to find a place you totally haven't heard of before. For foreigners vacationing with kids here in the Philippines though, the book can be really helpful. Our tourism promotion efforts don't really focus much on what little kids can do around here. Anyway, am happy with my purchase. Go through the book yourself and off you go, with the kids in tow...
