HappyWe are now well into Advent and everywhere you look, there are physical signs that Christmas is near. One time, we were driving through the Ortigas area, and my son pointed out the snowmen decorations. [an error occurred while processing this directive]"Look, Mommy, a snowman. He's smiling." "Why is he smiling?" I ask my son. "Because he's happy," my son quickly answers, probably unbelieving that his mom would not know the reason why people, even snowmen, smile. "Why is he happy?" I press further. "Because he saw me," my son proudly replies. I guess we tell him that he makes us happy often enough he thinks it's the same for everyone. Talk about positive self-esteem. Well, I wish all adults could feel that way about Christmas, worries and concerns of daily life notwithstanding. What exactly do I mean? I hope we would all be happy and see Christmas for what it truly means. I was reading the reflection for the Gospel the other day (in my 365 Days With the Lord Book)and I quote: "Let us hope that we do not forget the One whose birth we celebrate: the Messiah born to us to set us free." Free from all concerns. Free from all worries. Eventually. We have our Savior. All we have to do is see. And love. Advanced happy birthday to the Source of all good.
