Sleeping TightLooking around how things are in this world, there is much cause for worry. I was making this comment to my husband the other night and he replied by reminding me about prayer and faith. [an error occurred while processing this directive]Upon reading the Bible, much later that evening, we were surprisingly led to Mark, chapter 4, to the part where Jesus Calms a Storm. That portion talks about the disciples panicking in the midst of a strong wind and waves. Jesus, meanwhile, was asleep. The disciples then proceeded to wake up Jesus saying: "Teacher, don't you care that we are about to die?" Jesus then commands the wind and the sea to calm down. The disciples are amazed that even the wind and the waves obey Jesus. Before that, however, Jesus turns to them and says: "Why are you frightened? Do you still have no faith?" Now that passage was clearly meant for me. It was also meant to calm me down, I suppose. It's a good thing to remember too in the midst of worries and troubles. Anyway, I truly am grateful for having been sought out and re-assured.
