A Marvel-ous World

Have missed writing over the last two days. Have been feeling more tired in the afternoon and at night, with my tummy tightening quite often. My OB prescribed some medicine to help relax me - should my tummy feel too uncomfortable. I guess being pregnant now that I'm much older really is a different experience from the first. So, excuse me if I miss a day or two, every now and then.

What follows are the words (by Pablo Casals) on a poster on a grade school bulletin board I saw the other day. Looking around our (war-torn) world, we may think that we all probably didn't learn things correctly early on. Then again, it's never too late to re-learn or un-learn anything:

"When will we teach our children in school what they are? We say to each of them:

Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all of the world, there is no other child like you. In the millions of years that have passed there has never been another child like you. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel.

And when you grow up, can you then harm another, who like you is a marvel?"
